Compliance & HR
Managing Remote and Hybrid Teams
For: Managers & supervisors
By profession
For employees, supervisors and customer-facing staff: spot conflict early, stay calm, hold difficult conversations, and know when a dispute is really a protected complaint.
For: All employees, supervisors, team leads and customer-facing staff in any US workplace
Learn practical skills for the conflicts every workplace has: spotting tension early, understanding your own conflict style, calming yourself and others, listening so people feel heard, and holding a difficult conversation that ends with a real agreement. Supervisors also learn to run a facilitated conversation, document it and follow up.
Built for employees at every level, team leads and supervisors, and anyone who deals with coworkers under pressure. Scenarios follow real US settings: a warehouse in Texas, a dealership service department in Virginia and a city parks department in Arizona.
What makes this course different is the line it draws between ordinary conflict and legally protected complaints. You will learn when a "personality clash" is really possible harassment, discrimination or retaliation under Title VII, or protected concerted activity under Section 7 of the National Labor Relations Act, and why those situations must go to HR instead of being talked out.

Any employee, plus team leads, supervisors and customer-facing staff. Modules 1 to 4 build personal skills everyone uses. Modules 5 to 7 add what supervisors and managers need: facilitating conversations, documenting, escalating legal issues and preventing recurring conflict.
The core skills apply everywhere. The legal sections cover federal law: Title VII, retaliation protections and NLRA Section 7. Many states and cities add protected traits, cover smaller employers or have pay transparency laws. Check your company policy and your state's fair employment agency for local rules.
About two hours: seven short modules with interactive exercises and knowledge checks, then a 23-question final assessment. You need 75 percent to pass and can review modules and retake the assessment. You can pause and return at any time.
The listening and de-escalation skills apply to customers too. This course focuses on conflict between coworkers and with managers. For a full process for customer complaints, see our Complaint Handling and Service Recovery course.
A certificate of completion with the course title, 2 contact hours and your completion date, plus four job aids: a conflict response checklist, a policy starter, a difficult conversation worksheet and an escalation quick-reference. Three short follow-up questions over the next month help the skills stick.
