Accessibility

Accessibility at CE Courses Hub

Everyone who needs training should be able to take it. We design the site and every course to be usable with a keyboard, a screen reader, zoom and other assistive technology.

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA across the website, the course player, certificates and our free tools. We test with automated accessibility checks on every release and with keyboard-only walk-throughs of each type of course activity.

We have not yet had an independent third-party audit. When one is completed, we will publish its date and scope here.

Features that help

  • Every course can be completed with a keyboard alone, including scenarios, decision trees, sorting and matching activities
  • Drag-and-drop activities have a keyboard and tap alternative
  • Visible focus outlines and a skip link on every page
  • Light and dark themes, and a text-size control in the course player
  • Animation reduced when your device asks for reduced motion, and no content that depends on animation
  • Diagrams with text descriptions of what they show, and no meaning carried by color alone
  • Glossary terms that open on tap, click or keyboard, not only on hover
  • Job aids you can print, save as PDF or download as an editable Word document
  • Progress saved automatically, so you can take breaks at any point
  • Assessments without time limits, with a retake available

Known limitations

  • Payment forms are provided by our payment processor inside the checkout page. We choose settings that support keyboard and screen reader use, but we do not control that form’s code.
  • Some official documents we link to, such as agency PDFs, are published by other organizations and may not be fully accessible.
  • Downloaded certificate PDFs are designed to print well and contain the same text as the on-screen certificate, which is the most accessible version.

If any of these gets in your way, contact us and we will help directly.

Ask for an accessible alternative

If anything on the site or in a course is hard to use with your setup, tell us through the contact page or at support@cecourseshub.com. Include the page or course, what you were trying to do and the assistive technology you use, if any. We reply within one business day and will either fix the problem or provide the content in another accessible format, such as a text version of an activity.

Employers buying training for staff with disabilities can ask us before purchase about any course.

Frequently asked questions

Can I complete a course with a screen reader?

Yes, that is our design goal for every course. Activities use standard buttons, labels and live updates that screen readers announce. If any part does not work with your screen reader, contact us and we will fix it or send an alternative.

Is there a time limit on the final assessment?

No. You can take as long as you need, and if you do not pass you can retake it with a new set of questions.
